Swan Valley, March 2019
👩‍🦰 It was a poop start to my birthday weekend dealing with work dramas (I was a boutique manager at Honey Birdette at the time and my casual that was supposed to open to store called in sick because she was hungover). Anyway, Aaron made up for it by taking me for a surprise getaway to the Swan Valley.
We checked in to our accommodation, a cute chalet complete with an outdoor spa bath on the deck, yaaaas! Aaron’s parents were gracious enough to make the trip down and chauffeur us around to the wineries, including Ugly Duckling, Windy Creek and Oakover.
They took us to Elmar’s in the Valley for lunch and it turns our party was to be larger than I expected - Aaron’s sister and her husband and two of my girlfriends were there to surprise me as well! I was touched that they had come out and it was - as Elmar’s always is - a great feed.
After checking out the next day, we paid a visit to the Swan Valley Cuddly Farm, which was as advertised - cuddlyyyyy! I made friends with a little goat who thought my bag strap looked delicious.
It was hard to drive past the House of Honey and not check it out! We sampled some nice meads and honeys. I’m not even a huge fan of honeys but they were all delicious, and the meads were divine! They also had chocolates and so many other products all made with honey as well. We walked away with so much mead!
One last stop off at Olive Farm Wines for a cheese platter (the red leicester was yuuum!) and a little tipple with a lovely view before heading home and back to reality. Very spoiled for my birthday!
